Falling down

Post a new topicby ahldee on Tue Oct 02, 2007 11:49 pm

My father is 90 and basically healthy. He has a sharp mind and speaks and hears well. His walking gait stride is about one inch. He uses a walker. His balance is bad. A strong wind could blow him over. Lately he falls a lot. His legs just seem to quiver , get jelly-like and he falls. He takes Levadopa and Amantadine. His MD has not suggested seeing a Neurologist. Does anyone have the shakes and falling syndrome? What meds are you taking? I read Levadopa is not the best med for the shakes but I am not a Dr. and must trust his MD's advise. Thanks
