Any suggestions out there?
Sponsored LinksRe: depression & nightmaresHi there my Dad is also going through allot of crazy stuff, I looked at the medication he was taking and totaled all his pills. Take control and be pro active, research all the side effects ,drugs that should not be mixed together. You will be surprises at the milligram amount and the drugs that should not be taken together. I called my fathers doctor and questioned the over 1,140 milligram's of medication he was taking, there were three pills that should not be taken together. He was having vivid real life like hallucinations, lack of sleep, weight loss, and many more things. With one phone call and lots of research, you can make a difference for him. He probably is having allot of the same symptom's but is afraid to tell you , he just does not want you to think he is crazy. Get him out and around other people, make sure he is drinking enough of water to flush the medication through his system and go over all his medication with the neurologist. Good luck, stay strong and God Bless.
Re: depression & nightmaresIf your father is taking Sinemet, it can cause hallucinations and extreme nightmares. I am 51 yrs. old and have had PD for 8 years now. I was having trouble with nightmares and discussed it with my neurologist. He had me be sure not to take Sinemet for 2-3 hours before sleeping. It did help quite a bit. I found that the timing of the meds is very important to smoothing out the symptoms. Make sure to discuss this with your neurologist before changing anything about the meds.
