Osteoarthritis

I have ostoarthritis is there anything that I can try besides physical therapy I got into an accident 7 years ago and I injured my lower back . There is not a day that goes by that I am not in some kind of pain. It is usually a mild , dull ache ( letting me know its still around) I have been in physical therapy for about 5 months and it seemed to be helping a bit . I am only 43 years old but most days I feel like 65 my arms are starting to hurt below the elbow and I have recently been waking up in the middle of the night with knee pain. Does anyone know if osteoarthritis can start in the back and then go to other joints is this normal is this what I have to look forward too in the future? Also I live in Mi you know where the weather is cold and wet and unpredictiable, is there a better state for me to live in? Thanks
