more problems....Has anyone else encountered problems with their insurance carrier, in supporting them in their claim? With peripheral neuropathy having such a wide range of disorders, how is it that the information sent in by attending Physician doesn't fit the criteria that they are" looking for"? (Motor,Sensory,Autonomic)I can't imagine how much more information is necessary to obtain an "approval". Nerve conduction testing is my next step. Such a shame that confirmation of symptoms by a Physician isn't considered adequate.

Re: more problems....Wow....... we should all be so lucky as to work for an "Insurance Company".
Let me see............ oh yes, here it is.........."to compensate or protect against specified losses in return for a fee". I'M INSURED. I don't understand your comment of "they aren't there to help you". This is a loss due to disability.

They are companies that exist to make money (or, in the case of AIG, lose money) for their shareholders. That observation is based on dozens, if not hundreds, of cases I have direct or indirect knowledge of. Their procedures for "approvals" of medically necessary treatment seem sometimes to be almost whimsical. *** It took a friend of mine 18 months to finally get his disability insurance company to pay him. I understand our own Social Security Administration is not much better. *** I certainly don't intend to make light of the frustrations and fights we all experience, but simply want to point out that health insurers are more interested in your premium payments than your good health. Re: more problems....Just keep trying and have your Dr. re-code the tests.
Hope this works!
Re: more problems....study up on the nerve conduction tests before you go. it is very painful, or can be, was to me because I was post op from a double hernia repair surgery. i was not aware of what the tests involved. I screamed in pain. If you can take someone to hold your hand do it....
