Is It Actually Neuropathy?

Post a new topicby MyNumb1946 on Mon Dec 01, 2008 6:23 pm

I have numbness and tingling in my feet all of the time. Some days it is worse than others. Lately is has lessened considerably and is now basically annoying rather than painful. My worst issue is mostly with my left hand and wrist/arm. The worse time is at night. My hands and especially my little finger and along the side of my wrist/arm where my little finger is. They go so numb at night that it is like someone froze that side of my hand and arm. My other fingers are also numb but not to the same degree as my pinky and have I squeeze it and hit it to "awaken" it. They also go numb when I am just sitting and watching TV or reading. My fingers go numb while I am typing on the computer (both hands). Can this be neuropathy? I also have carpal tunnel disease but with carpal tunnel the pinky does not go numb because the nerves for the pinky do not travel through the carpal tunnel. This new condition started after I had fistula surgery on my left arm to prepare it for dialysis. At the beginning is wasn't that bad but now, a year later, it is very painful and keeps me awake at night trying to "awaken" my pinky and arm. Has anyone experienced this or knows anything about it. My doctors are no help. Who should I talk to?
