Hello All,

I've recently found out about my aunt. She had breast cancer on her right breast. When the breast was removed, 4 doctors checked it and said that there was no cancer, yet they told her that she needed to continue taking Chemo just to be sure that everything was removed. I'm not sure what caused this and her husband is very skeptical about it as well, but as we speak she is paralized. She can feel but she cannot move anything but her eyes and eyelids. A few months ago she was able to speak and now she can't. Her husband believes that it might be Neuropathy but doctors haven't been clear with him about anything and he's just living right now to make her happy and comfortable. He's pretty much given up hope with doctors because they can't help. She cannot communicate at all and we have no idea how this happened. All we know is that it happened slowly. While taking chemo she started to lose feeling in her arms, then her legs, etc... I need some help in finding out what to do. I'm desperate. Doctors will not see her because she has medicare. She was actually in a hospital last year and they made her leave because her bills were up to $1 million. She is currently in a rehabilitation center where they don't do any medical tests on her. We have no idea if she even has cancer still because no one will come and do a test on her. My aunt, who is 51, is dying slowly and we have no idea what to do about this. I say this because she's even losing her ability to wink and when she looks at you, she turns her eyes very slowly. We believe this can be malpractice but one out of two lawyers who actually took the case dropped it because it's too expensive to research. If anyone knows of anyway that I can get some help with this, I would grately appreciate it. I just saw her this past saturday for the first time in 15 years and it was a horrible way to reunite with someone I adored so much. She was such a beautiful, energetic and smart woman and her life was taken away.

Hello ... First I am so sorry that you are going thru this and can't be of any help really bc I am new to this myself ... I know how you feel about the Medicare though ... my grandmother is going thru something similiar re drs not really doing there best bc she has Medicare ... have you thought about reaching out to the local news channels or talk shows newspapers etc ... I mean its worth a try ... Good Luck ... Let me know any updates ...

I am also sorry for all you are going through, and I think the previous poster is right. The best move you could make, I think, is to get publicity to this case. Shame the hospital and rehab center and doctors and everyone else into staying true to their Hippocratic oath! And you never know who's paying attention to those news reports. Good luck.
