Ureteroscopy Stone RemovalI have never posted anything on the internet but my experiences over the past month have kind of forced me to.
After about 4 hits of renal colic, 9 days ago I had a stone fragmentation by ureteroscopy and a stent fitted. The urologist said this may cause some ‘discomfort’. There is still a lot of blood in my urine and the stent is causing the kind of ‘discomfort’ that has me thinking a dose of renal colic would be a welcome relief. Re: Ureteroscopy Stone RemovalI had this procedure done twice (unsuccessfully) for kidney stone removal and it was an absolutely miserable experience. The first time was unsuccessful because the ureters were too small so stents were placed. The procedure was repeated two weeks later and was still unsuccessful. The two weeks in between was honestly the second most painful thing I have endured in my entire life...second only to when I was in the midst of passing my first kidney stone.
I hate to say it, but my pain and back spasms lasted until the stents came out. I was on Vicodin for the pain and out of sheer desperation I doubled the dose and was taking it every two hours instead of every 4 hours. I hope your pain goes away after a few days...it's not something I would wish on any person. I have often wondered if all of my pain was because of the stents or the actual ureteroscopy. I suspect it was the stents...yikes, I shudder just remembering it! Feel better soon!
Re: Ureteroscopy Stone RemovalHi
I had ureteroscopy procedure yesterday and I have the same exact symptoms. I have an extreme pain while urinating and I asked the doctor about it he said it is normal. He asked me if I have heavy bleeding in my urine I said its not like %100 blood but it is mixed with urine. He said it is normal too. I am taking antibiotics and pain killer and I think one of them causes my whole body aching. I dont know which one. I will write here if I find out.
