New FSD drug in phase 3 trialsFlibanserin is the leading drug for the highly coveted "first FDA approved FSD drug." Flibanserin is in phase 3 trials with possible FDA approval in 2009 yet there is really not much discussion about it. The German pharmaceutical company, Boehringer Ingelheim, isn't saying much. Flibanserin was initially introduced as an antidepresssant and was found to stimulate women sexually.
It is interesting that Pfizer reportedly budgeted $100M to advertise Viagra as an FSD drug, and there has been a lot of press and discussion on this topic, yet the leading FSD drug in clinical trials is virtually unknown to the general public. Viagra has not proven to be effective for women in clinical studies to date, perhaps Flibanserin will be more effective. Does anyone have information on Flibanserin or other FSD related drug trials?
