ED although I get erection while sleep

Post a new topicby janaka on Sun Jun 01, 2008 7:25 am

I am 54yrs and been having ED for last 4 yrs. I could have an erection when I take viagra type medication. But this is good only for 1 climax. If I want to have sex again say in 2 hours time. I can't get it up. Until 1 yr back I was able to have medication and have repeated sex say in 6 hours later. But all that has changed.
But I am surprised that even without any medication I regularly get hard on during sleep and when I wake up I notice that it's really good erection. After I wake up this erection would last for 5 mins or more if I really consentrate. Thereafter it goes soft. This is what is puzzling me. If I am really ED, how do I get erection during sleep? I have met an urologist, but I just got regular ED medication, which is not helping totally.
I am getting treament for hypertension and my pressure is normal. I am not diebetic, I take medication to keep my colestrol levels under control. I am very active, does 8-10 hrs of cardio/weights during a week. I am 5' 8", 154 lbs quite fit.

If you get an erection at night, you still have the testosterone and brain chemicals to overcome ED. Several things, presciption blood pressure meds usually lead to ED, especially Beta blockers. They block adrenialine to the receptors in your heat to slow it down, so now u have extra adrenaline in your blood, and your genital area has receptors for adrenanline, so u have less blood flow there, difficult erections.

You might try other blood meds until u see improvement. Hawthorn berries ahve the same effect, they slow ur heart down but don't bother the genital area.

Yohimbine works the oposite, it blocks the adreneline in the recptors in the genital area, therfore more is avaible to the recptors in the heart, therefore a racing heart. Yohimbine works, it's proven for ED, but you get a racing heart. I have used up to 50 mg ( now only 15)of yohimbine (not yohimbe), but i take about 4 grams of hawthorn berries with it to slow the heart. It mades for a good erection and desire. I t may keep u up, not sleep at night.

Theanine is proven to lower BP. I take 200 mg, three times a day. This may help u, it has a calming, but not sleepy effect.

Alos, b vitamins, c, e, calcium, zinc, magnesium are needed to activate your sytem to make good brain chemicals and testoserone. u might try megadoses of that. I use Forward for heathy nutrition.

Same here my friend. I cannot get an erection when its time to preform for my partner but I always get great erections when i wake up "morning wood". I think it is all mental, in the morning when one wakes up he is relaxed and feeling good this helps the blood flow and causes and erection in the morning. A bunch of guys has posted their morning wood experiences here http://www.edguider.com/edblog/2008/09/11/erections-before-bed-and-morning-wood/ most of them say that the best time to have sex is right when you wake up because the erection lasts for a few minutes giving you enough time to penetrate.
