Starled Feelings Linked to Seizures

Post a new topicby NicoleLee on Tue Jan 08, 2008 8:19 pm

My boyfriend started having seizures when he was sixteen. He went to the doctor and was put on medicine they told him he had heterotopia and it would pass in a few years. He stopped having seizures for six years and then started again after being taken off the medicine he was put on because of high liver functions. After that he started having more that with time became more frequent. The seizures start by him being startled by something such has a dog barking out of no where. He will get feelings in the back of his head and then go into a seizures The doctor keeps putting him on different medicines but nothing is working did anyone ever here of this?

hello nicole ....i think it is wonderful of you to take such in interest in you boyfriends health issues....i do not know of those type of seizures but i can tell you i to had prolbems with my meds for my seizures and then eventually the neuro Dr. sent me to a epilepsy specialist and then he had me do a 72 hr eeg at the clinic ......the best thing i could have ever done ....it let the docs know exactly where the seizures were generating from and how long they were lasting and the newest thing that i heard of is psychological seizures which i had never heard of ,i have had seizures for a long time.....but you know the thing to do is have your boyfriend and yourself talk to the doc about doind the 72 hr eeg ....and i know the meds are horrible and i wish someone would come out with some great cure......i wish you the best......yvonne
