Pain induced seizures?

Post a new topicby karensims7 on Tue Nov 13, 2007 7:40 pm

This year I was headed toward being seizure free for 8 wonderful years. I was out one day when Alabama was having some hot weather. I felt fine. Maybe a headache coming on. A little bit hungry. It was eleven o'clock in the morning and I hadn't had any breakfast. I stopped at a new place that had opened up in town. I bought some books and while heading back to my car I misstepped off the curve and my ankle turned. My right knee took most of the punishment. So I sat there for a little bit waiting for the pain to start to subside. I lifted myself up on the curb. I was talking to my Mom, telling her to give me a minute and the next thing I knew everything was black. This was much scarier this time. When I was coming out of it, I could feel my eyes closed. I kept telling myself to open my eyes, but it felt as though I couldn't. My Mpm called the paramedics and they measured my blood pressure. It was in the normal range. She drove us home and my Dad insisted that I go to the emergency room. There they tested my Dilantin and Tegretol levels (which turned out fine). What I wanted to know, is there any evidence that pain induces a seizure

I am also having similar occurances with seizures. In the past two years I had have two seizures follwing things that I have gone back to as pain. Once when I got a tattoo and the other after I had had a foot surgery and fell on it. I still am not sure what is going on but I just wanted to tell you that your not alone in all this. And please if you find out any information please share.
