Our 15 month old daughter with CF gets three breathing treatments per day. The first and last we use Xopenex .63 mg/3ml
and Pulmicort 2.0ml 5mgs together followed by CPT then Pulmozyme and TOBI.

The drug Xopenex is a recently marketed Broncho-dilator?

Is this drug an improved version of Albuterol or a different drug altogether. I know they are used for the same treatments. Our daughter does not tolerate Albuterol very well. She gets very shakey and her heart rates sometimes runs over 200 bpm.

What is your opinion of Xopenex vs Albuterol?

it is a different formulation of the same drug. It is thought to work better with fewer side effects such as you described. I have used it without any problems in many patients but none as young as your daughter.
