i have corns on the fifth toe of both feet and tried commercial corn removers to get rid of them, but they didnt help. im somewhere between size 6 1/2 and a 7 how do i determine which shoe size to buy and since surgery is an option for corn removal how expensive is it and will the scarring be minimal

Corn removers are acid and are not a good way to get rid of corns. Surgery is a very good way to get rid of a corn and will be covered by insurance. If you do not have insurance, you should probably get some first because it can be expensive. The scar is normally very minimal and far less than the actual corn but there is always the chance of a complication with surgery. You should try on both shoe sizes until you find the most comfortable size. You may want to try a wider size as well.

hi, I had suffered from corns on my 5 toe (little toe) for most of my life. on my right foot. I tried all the corn removers, pads. They just never really helped.
I ended up having hammertoe correction on my 4th, and 5 toe, and also tailor bunionectomy. The surgery went well, and was out of work for 5 weeks. Being my job is on my feet.
They do insert pins, which are removed later.
Now I am pain free from corns on that foot.

On January of 2003, I had my left foot done. there i had hammertoe correction on 2,3,4,5 toes, tailor bunionectomy and also they did something to relieve some pressure on the bottom of my foot.
I had a lot done on this foot. Still very sore, and expect to be out of work for 2 months. But sure it will be worth it.
