bladder problems8 years ago I had a really hard time holding my pee I would have to wear pads it was so bad, I was only 40 at the time and the I had a ctostpy (where they put the little camera up your pee hole) I had also had 5 children well he told me my bladder had fallen so much it was pushing everything else down so I had the Burch Procedure done and that is where they cut you from your belly button down to past your hairline. I had to stay in the hospital for 5 days could not eat or drink anything becasue they do not want you to throw up so you don't wreck anything they have done inside plus you have a cathater the whole time. They sure keep you well medicated you are on intervenous which has a slow drip of morphine constantly going into you plus you have the hand helf thing where you can give yourself a shot every 10 minutes. I am now having the same problem 8 yrs later but worse and have gone to see the urerologist again and had the cystopy again last week and am going for surgery again Nov 28, but now they have a less evvasive way of doing it and it takes about 1/2 hour and you go home with a cathater and it comes out the next day but you have to take it easy for 4 wks later. This way you only have 2 little holes apprently and this time my bladder has not fallen it has somethng to do with my ureatha and they have to tighten that. I don't know if this is going to be a life long battle with this but sometimes I wish I never even starter by getting The Burch Procedure and did the Keigle exercises instead. I am 48 and don't want to start wearing diapers in my 50's. Hopefully this works this time and there is no more problems anymore but the Burch Procedure was suppose to cure all of that so ladies I would do alot of research and get different opions if they want to give you this operation, that was my problem I just trusted my doctor and had it done. I have this awful scare and the same problem so really think about it. And I have heard this from afew women.
