wicca

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jul 02, 2002 6:26 pm

I'm a kid with bi polar disorder...but I want to be a witch. I know what your probably thinking, I'll drink blood, or wear silly hats and say funny words with a strange stick and fly on broomsticks. No.no. Its not like that at all. I want to be a white witch. Its not against god, they don't worship satan. Its very organic, its a loving practice, I was wondering though, would I lose it? Would it be ok to do this? Would both of my feet go out of reality?

Where I practice psychiatry, I have met many wiccans. So I am familiar with the practice. While I can't tell you what to do, I would say that we usually recommend that someone with Bipolar Disorder not engage in these cosmic philosophies as they may indeed lose touch with reality.

I believe in hat religion also ((mostly)). I don't see how it would affect it. Being bi-polar should not affect your religion. Wiccan religion is about accepting also, so no one could really tell you not to! There are things that the disorder might affect, but religion doesn't seem to be one of them.

Hi my name is Billy and i have been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder since 1986 and have been wiccan since 1997 and personally i find great comfort in my spiritual beleifs and why do you say out there? If it is truly something you beleive in (as I do) then it will also raise your self-esteem which is very important in being bi-polar. If you are a "kid" as you say and you have been diagnosed bi-polar then you have a head start on most of us already i never knew what was wrong with me until i was in my 20's and now that i do i take time to study the disease of bi-polar its effects and conditions almost as much as i take for my wicca. and always remember do what thou wilst as long as no one is harmed.
