Shoes, throw them out?

Once this pain in the neck athlethe's foot is treated and gone will i have to throw my contaminated shoes out or wash them?

In my experience you should be able to disinfect them, but if they are old and you have the funds for new shoes then why bother just throw them away

I have heard that you can spray your shoes thoroughly with something like lyson disinfectant, put them in a plastic bag and tie it up, leave for a few days, then air out! Might be worth a try.

Whoops...typo...that was supposed to be lysol! A more natural way would be to make a spray with tea tree or lavender essential oil and spray with that. I would think about 15 drops of each of those oils diluted into 8 oz of distilled water would work. If you add a little aloe to that, you could then spray your feet with it as well! I think there is a lot of room to explore the use of essential oils in the treatment of athlete's foot. I personally have had huge success with just a drop or 2 of tea tree oil on those little red itchy blisters one gets. They are gone in a day or two.
