Feet fungus contagious?Hi Doctor,
I am currently dating a guy with fungus infection on his right foot for several years now. His big toe nail is disfigured so much that it is so small in size and bumpy looking. His other toes are discoloured... His right sole is a bit rough. He has seen a doctor in the past and because of some side effect of medication treatments, his doctor told him to live with it or risk the side effect. Since it doesn't bother him, he feels that he doesn't need to be treated. That's fine with me. Now my questions: 1) When we get intimate, our feet would rub against each others. Sometimes his feet would rub against my legs. Will I catch any of his infection as a result of this? (Other than rough sole and disfigure toes, his foot seems fine.) Will washing my feet after the session help in preventing fungus infection? 2) I have a feet fetish. I love to rub feet on my face or sometimes sucking them... Will I catch his infection when I do it with his other "healthy" left foot? Can a person only has one foot infected with fungus and the other foot be healthy? Any comment will be helpful. Thank you in advance for responding
Re: Feet fungus contagious? It is possible to get fungal infections form someone else and also in your mouth. Therefore, I would definitely suggest cleaning afterwards. The therapy for fungal nails and feet is very effective and only requires a three month treatment to get rid of it for good. Also, the side effects are relatively rare and reversible so the risk is not that great. Therefore, I would encourage him to take the anti-funfal medicine. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
