Demineralization of Osseous structure in ankle?I have had 12 surgeries on my ankles due to an accident where I fell 24ft. and landed on my feet. The right ankle was just operated on last Nov. 22 and I am just now able to stand on it for a very limited amount of time. The surgery was to fuse one last remaining unfused joint (subtalar) and it was the second such surgery as the first one last May ended up as a nonunion. I just recently had to go to the ER because My daughter jumped up on the bed and bent my toes on the right foot way back to the point something popped. Very loud... so as I was having that checked for a possible breaqk, the ER doctor asked me what the deal was with my foot and ankle... He then told me the my osseous structure throughout the foot and ankle had extensive demineralization. What he would not do was elaborate on what that was or what it meant to me. Could anyone help me out by telling me what that means and is it something I need to do something about? I would appreciate any information that would shead some light on whats going on with my foot.
