Ankle injury years ago getting worse!

Post a new topicby Pslam23 on Sun Nov 11, 2007 7:20 am

I was in a football game where I was under a bottem of what you call a dog pile. 6-7 people landed on my foot, bending it aquardley. It was really tender for about 2 weeks. I thought it healed, because it was well enough to where I could run. But it stayed tender throughout the year, so I just got it taped, and the pain seem to go away.

But since that day, my ankle has never been right! It always was stiff, and I use to twist my foot , cracking it and the stiffness would go away for a few hours. The pain is in the heel area, the edge of my left foot, and the area right below my big toe. There is a big purple spot like a bruise right on my ankle, and sometimes that area would get numb. There are no purple spots on my right ankle.

But as the years have gone on, I have had to crack my ankle more and more to take away the stiffness. This is the only way to stop the stiffness! I crack it, then 10 minutes later its stiff again.

Then I made the mistake of wearing my little brothers boots to work for a few months. His feet are curved, and mine are straight. So its like his boots set my foot back into place permanetly. This has resulted in lack of flexibility and permant stiffness in my foot because I can't crack my ankle anymore. This has become really painful for me the past few months. Its like I'm walking on a numb foot.

Like I said the heel area, left edge, and right underneath the big toe area of my left foot is where it hurts and where I use to crack it. Please tell me if I need to go to a doctor asap, or if this is just some artharitis deal where I can buy some otc stuff to take away the stiffness and numnmess.
