Pace Maker, My Father, Medication, and Diarrhea

Post a new topicby Gotthesheets on Fri Nov 09, 2007 11:23 pm

My dad had a Pace Maker "installed" several months ago, and has been taking a lot of different medication, and now has diarrhea - everyday.... He doesn't eat the same as before and seems to be getting depressed..... He is a young 69, but this is keeping him from doing things like camping with his friends... He is embarrassed to go anywhere because he knows he'll have to keep using the bathroom!

After me asking questions, we decided he should try Metimucil, or Citrucil, to see if that would harded up his stools - they helped a little, he said, but he still has to go to the bathroom often.

My dad is getting lonely, depressed, and I think that there HAS to be a way to help this relatively healthy who has constant diarrhea.

I DON"T KNOW WHAT TO DO TO HELP MY DAD!

Can you help me, pleeeeeeeeeeease?

I AM A FEW YEARS OLDER THAN YOUR DAD AND I TOO, HAVE A PACE MAKER. THIS HUMAN BODY IS VERY COMMPLICATED. I AM SURE THAT A GOOD ENGINEER OR DOCTOR WOULD ASK YOU TO DEFINE "A LOT OF DIFFERENT MEDICATION". LIST EVERY ITEM INCLUDING VITAMINS.
NEXT, YOU SAY,
He doesn't eat the same as before and seems to be getting depressed.....
ONE NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HE IS PUTTING IN HIS BODY, HOW MUCH WATER, ALCAHOL, TYPE OF JUICES, ETC. I MEAN RIGHT DOWN TO THE COOKIE AND TYPE OF TEA, COFFEE ETC.
ONE COULD NOT GO ANY FURTHER UNTIL WE GET A RESPONSE TO THE ABOVE. (THERE IS A TYPE OF DOCTOR OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP YOU & HOPEFULY, I CAN RECOMMEND ONE TO YOU.)

After me asking questions, we decided he should try Metamucil, or Citrucel, to see if that would harded up his stools - they helped a little, he said, but he still has to go to the bathroom often. NOTE, METAMUCIL & CITRO MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE ABOVE. THESE ITEMS CONTRIBUTE TO MORE MOVEMENT WITH EASE. YOU COULD BE ADDING TO THE FIRE.

I DON"T KNOW WHAT TO DO TO HELP MY DAD!
You are on the right track by asking the question with a plea for help. Now, go respond to the above. Also, list the type of doctors that he is seeing now and what they prescribe.
